Upcoming Wine Seminar at The Savory Grape Wine Shop

Dining today has gone through a shift. Whether at home or out, we no longer follow the rules of appetizer, soup, salad, meal (or meal then salad), dessert. There is more openness to experimenting and shared eating, creating smaller bites and trying many items. When having a gathering, we love to make bites in varying categories (stuffed dates, pecan encrusted bacon, arugula salad). This shift is ever present in restaurants too.

Eating this way is fun; we can try various foods and wines at once. Having different textures, spices, weight means one wine will not pair with everything, and we can experience how different wines can pair with varied items on a platter, whether bubbly, red or even the same wine from multiple vintages. This helps too for those friends who only drink red or white; that way we have something each person likes.

We are thrilled to show you this next Tuesday, October 8, in store at The Savory Grape Wine Shop when Spence Vineyard's Owner Jacalyn Spence comes for a visit and wine seminar from 5-7 PM. We'll discuss three vintages ('07-'09) of her Cabernet Sauvignon, see the differences and how each pairs differently with food. We hope you can stop by for this great experience, and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us: {1000 Division Road, Unit 120 East Greenwich, RI 02818} {401-886-9463}
