I’ve had my eye on spring clothes since the first shipments arrived in stores months ago. It’s such a fun season to dress, and most everything transitions easily into summer. I love the bright colors, textures and metallic elements that are everywhere. So - after some internet stalking and in-person shopping, I’ve got some spring favorites to share with you...
My very first purchase? These woven booties by Nine West – the lower cut of the boot lends itself well to the spring season and is a refreshing change from my typical uniform of tall boots that I wear from October to March! The heel is just 2 ½ inches, which for me is perfect: low enough to wear chasing the kids but still dressy enough for meeting with a client.
A fun scarf can transform an entire outfit. Pop one on with jeans and a long sleeved tee and you are suddenly “dressed”. Even a lightweight scarf will offer some warmth when the sun doesn’t!
Have you tried the colored denim trend yet? A pair of bright blue jeans is a safe start. Not as wild as yellow or red, these still add a pop to your outfit while coordinating with a lot in your wardrobe. Try this color with mint green, coral, or be more subdued with a white peasant blouse.
In this season of brightly colored clothing, you will reach for neutral accessories again and again. This laser cut this bag from Aldo is super on-trend and will go with everything. I’m adding this gold cuff bracelet to my wish list – it can be dressed up easily or dressed down with a denim skirt and tunic.
Pointed toe flats (as opposed to traditional rounded toe ballet flats) are great at visually elongating the legline. These gold accented embossed leather Enzo Angliolinis are super chic but I think I like the red ones even more! They have found their way into my cart at Piperlime.com as I write this ;)
Finally, one of the hottest colors of the season is mint green. There was a time I felt that mint green was a color that should only appear in toothpaste, but now I admit I am excited to give it a try. Try it in a floaty material like this rayon blouse from etsy.com.
